This new generation has been developed exclusively based on an electric driveline. The new Citea will be revealed to the public at Busworld 2021 in Brussels. During the months prior to Busworld VDL Bus & Coach will lift gradually tips of the veil covering the new e-bus, off what is new in the Citea generation 2021.

VAN HOOL CLEAN AIR PURIFYING SYSTEM ALSO AVAILABLE FOR TX AND TDX Recent Van Hool announced its Clean Air Purifying System (CAPS) for coaches. CAPS provides active cleaning of used interior air. Each CAPS filter element uses three different technologies, all aimed at destroying bacteria and viruses that may be present in the air to be recycled in a coach. And now Van Hool has released the pricetags for the installation of CAPS – new or retrofitted. Van Hool says the first orders are already placed.

MERCEDES-BENZ WILL IN FUTURE ONLY USE COBALT & LITHIUM FROM CERTIFIED MINING SITES Mercedes-Benz AG states it will fulfil its responsibility as part of the sustainability offensive and for its batteries only will use cobalt and lithium sourced exclusively from certified mines. It makes Mercedes-Benz AG a pioneer for the first cross-industry mining standard “Standard for Responsible Mining” of the “Initiative for Responsible Mining Assurance”. The German company says “responsibly mined and processed raw materials provide the foundation for a sustainable Mercedes-Benz electric vehicle fleet”.

COACH COMPANY IN THE NETHERLANDS DELIVERS 10 MOBILE COVID-19 TEST UNITS Through a unique collaboration of the Dutch transport operator Pouw Vervoer with six suppliers and body builders, the Dutch health organization GGD / GHOR has added 10 mobile Covid-19 test facilities. The buses that previously served as normal city buses have been converted into these modern Covid-19 test units in only 1 week and can be used 24/7 for local outbreaks of Covid-19.
