BOSCH TO BE CARBON NEUTRAL WORLD-WIDE BY 2020 Bosch is to be fully climate-neutral as early as next year. Its over 400 locations worldwide, and their engineering, manufacturing, and administrative facilities, will no longer leave a carbon footprint. Bosch states it will be the first major industrial enterprise to achieve this ambitious goal in little over a year. Bosch will invest a billion euros in the energy efficiency of its plants and buildings over the next ten years.

RATP HAS AWARDED ALSTOM AN ORDER FOR 50 APTIS ELECTRIC BUSES As in April announced Alstom is one of the three manufacturers choosen by the Paris public transport company RATP to deliver electric buses. In the first tranche of the tender Alstom is now awarded an order for 50 of the Aptis electric buses. The amount of the framework contract could reach 133 million euros and is 100% financed by Île-de-France Mobilités. These Aptis buses, 12 metres long, will play a role in the massive renewal of the bus fleet of the Île-de-France network.

FIRST GLASGOW INVESTED HEAVILY IN LOW EMISSION BUSES Bus operator First Glasgow has reached a milestone after investing over £30m in 150 new Alexander Dennis low emission buses in the last six months. Further investment is planned as First Glasgow intends to continue to improve the air quality benefits of its fleet, as well as increasing passenger comfort. To advance safety, some of the new buses have been fitted with the SmartVision system – camera's instead of mirrors.
