SECOND LIFE FOR ELECTRIC BUS BATTERIES IN SWEDEN Volvo Bus is participating in a research project where Volvo Buses, Göteborg Energi, Riksbyggen and Johanneberg Science Park are working together to examine electricity storage in apartment blocks that have their own electricity production via solar panels. Volvo Bus is supplying the batteries for this project. It are the used batteries from the very first Volvo electric buses operating since 2015 in Swedish Gothenburg.

SIGNIFICANT 9,8 MW ORDER FOR HELIOX FROM OSLO Heliox, manufacturer of charging equipment, has been chosen to supply the biggest bus charging network in Oslo with a significant 9,8 MW infrastructure. It concerns 40 fast charging stations to power a fleet of 40 all-electric buses operated by transportcompany Unibuss. Heliox has to get this large-scale project up and running in less than 4 months. The first e-buses will start running around the Greater Oslo Region in the spring of 2019.

VDL BUS & COACH IS PLANNING NEW FACTORY IN BELGIUM ROESELARE VDL Bus & Coach recently purchased eight hectares of land at the Beveren-Krommebeek business park in Roeselare, Belgium. VDL Bus & Coach has acquired the land to eventually build a new factory specifically for the manufacturing of electric buses. The new factory will replace the current VDL factory which is located since 1881 in the centre of Roeselare, the former Jonckheere bus factory that was added to the VDL Groep in 1998.
