MERCEDES-BENZ ECITARO IS NOW A 'BLUE ANGEL' The Blue Angel is the ecolabel of the federal government of Germany since 1978. The Blue Angel sets standards for environmentally friendly product design. The ecolabel exists for 40 years and is regarded as a reliable guide for a more sustainable consumption. Mercedes-Benz has now delivered the first “Bleu Angel” eCitaro's to the German city of Jena.

VDL ENTERS ITALY WITH 4 CITEA SLF-120 ELECTRIC FOR MALPENSA AIRPORT The 4 VDL Citea SLF-120 Electric buses will run between the car parks, terminals 1 and 2, and Cargo City at Milano-Malpensa airport but not on the airfield at Milano-Malpensa itself. Milano-Malpensa International Airport is located about 45 kilometres northwest of central Milan. It is the largest cargo airport in Italy. The buses will be used around the clock, with one vehicle also continuing to drive at night.

ABB AND ASHOK LEYLAND TEAM UP FOR GREENER ELECTRIC BUSES Ashok Leyland, flagship of Hinduja Group, and ABB Power Products and Systems India Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to expand the eco-system for efficient and greener electric bus transportation systems in India. The MoU outlines a partnership to develop a pilot electric bus based on ABB’s flash-charge technology, TOSA, which tops up the battery in just seconds.

SOLARIS AND POZNAN UNIVERSITY DEVELOPING ADVANCED DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEM In cooperation with Poznań University of Technology Solaris is developing an advanced system of assistance for drivers of city buses. In the past few weeks, project tests were run in front of the Municipal Stadium in Poznań thanks to which the electric bus will be able to precisely show the driver how to dock the pantograph under a charging station.
