SCANIA'S NXT, A CONCEPT “MANY PURPOSE” VEHICLE At the UITP Summit in Stockholm this week Scania showed a new battery electric self-driving urban concept vehicle, the NXT. Being at a public transport fair this vehicle is designed as a bus, but the idea at Scania is to have one vehicle suitable for many purposes: from ferrying commuters to and from work in mornings and evenings, delivering goods during the day and collecting refuse at night.

CEREMONIAL HAND-OVER VAN HOOL FC A 330 TO COLOGNE AT UITP SUMMIT During a ceremony at Van Hool's booth at the UITP Summit in Stockholm, director Jan van Hool handed over the keys of the first fuel cell Van Hool A330 for Cologne. Jens Conrad, Fachbereitsleiter Alternative Antriebe at Regionalverkehr Köln (RVK) GmbH received them proudly. It is the first fuel cell bus of an order of 40 units signed in February 2018.

DUTCH ROYAL BEUK INTRODUCES THE FUNERAL COACH Royal Beuk, one of the biggest coach companies in the Netherlands, is performing on a regular base funeral processions. Until now Royal Beuk provided its luxury blue coaches to transport family and friends of the deceased following the funeral car. After being regularly asked whether it was allowed to transport the deceased by coach surrounded by the family to a final resting place, Royal Beuk has taken the initiative to build a funeral coach in conjunction with Belgium coach manufacturer Van Hool.
