HTM INSTALLS QSTRAINT QUANTUM IN 8 NEW ELECTRIC CITEAS Public transport operator in the Dutch government city, HTM, displayed its first eight VDL Citea electric SLF120 last week to the public. A scoop for the Netherlands is the Qstraint Quantum system to secure electric wheelchairs which HTM has installed in their new zero emission buses. The charging equipment is from Heliox.

EU’S FIRST COMMERCIAL VEHICLE CO2 STANDARDS In November the European Parliament adopted a higher target (35%) than the European Commission (30%) for new heavy duty vehicles to reduce the EU´s greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, with an intermediate target of 20% by 2025. The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) is calling on governments to adopt a well-balanced and viable approach to this piece of legislation, which in their view will have a huge impact on the future of the heavy-duty vehicle industry.

NEW CONSORTIUM TO STIMULATE LARGE SCALE ROLL OUT OF LNG A new consortium 'BioLNG EuroNet' announced a commitment to the further expansion of LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a road transport fuel across Europe with new infrastructure that should ensure the long-term success and mass scale adoption. The consortium, comprising Shell, Disa, Scania, Osomo and Iveco will each deliver separate activities. Besides 2,000 more LNG trucks on the road it wants to realize 39 LNG fuelling stations and the construction of a BioLNG production plant in the Netherlands.

SCOTTISH ORDER FOR 26 ADL ENVIRO200 EURO 6 BUSES ADL, Alexander Dennis, received an order for 26 Enviro200 single deck Euro 6 buses. Scotland’s largest independent bus operator, McGill’s, has placed this order as part of its continued investment in its modern fleet. The 26 buses will be built to Low Emission Bus standards with Euro 6 engines and ADL’s SmartPack efficient diesel technology. They will be delivered by the end of March 2019.
