NEW CONSORTIUM TO STIMULATE LARGE SCALE ROLL OUT OF LNG
A new consortium 'BioLNG EuroNet' announced a commitment to the further expansion of LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a road transport fuel across Europe with new infrastructure that should ensure the long-term success and mass scale adoption. The consortium, comprising Shell, Disa, Scania, Osomo and Iveco will each deliver separate activities. Besides 2,000 more LNG trucks on the road it wants to realize 39 LNG fuelling stations and the construction of a BioLNG production plant in the Netherlands.Read article
SCOTTISH ORDER FOR 26 ADL ENVIRO200 EURO 6 BUSES
ADL, Alexander Dennis, received an order for 26 Enviro200 single deck Euro 6 buses. Scotland’s largest independent bus operator, McGill’s, has placed this order as part of its continued investment in its modern fleet. The 26 buses will be built to Low Emission Bus standards with Euro 6 engines and ADL’s SmartPack efficient diesel technology. They will be delivered by the end of March 2019.Read article
IVECO BUS DELIVERS 61 CROSSWAY TO SARDINIAN ARST
Iveco Bus won the call for tenders that it responded to last October, concerning the delivery of 61 Crossway. The tender was launched in July 2017 by the Sardinian transportcompany ARST and covered 61 Crossways in two different versions: 28 units of ten meters long and 33 units of twelve meters long. These vehicles complement a fleet of nearly a thousand units.Read article
RATP EXECUTES FIRST PART OF SOLARIS ORDER FOR 18 ARTICULATED BUSES
In March 2016 French operator RATP and Polish busbuilder Solaris signed a framework agreement to deliver 48 buses over a certain period of time. The contract has a value of 20 million Euro.
Now RATP has ordered the first part of this contract covering 18 Solaris Urbino 18 CNG buses.
SECOND LIFE FOR ELECTRIC BUS BATTERIES IN SWEDEN
Volvo Bus is participating in a research project where Volvo Buses, Göteborg Energi, Riksbyggen and Johanneberg Science Park are working together to examine electricity storage in apartment blocks that have their own electricity production via solar panels. Volvo Bus is supplying the batteries for this project. It are the used batteries from the very first Volvo electric buses operating since 2015 in Swedish Gothenburg.Read article
