HYUNDAI UNVEILS ELECTRIC DOUBLE DECKER Hyundai Motor has is yet another company to unveil an electric double decker bus. The development is a project supported by the Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport, which began in 2017. The main purposes are of course improving air quality, reducing congestion and contribute to easing commuting hour traffic congestion by accommodating more passengers. The electric Hyundai double decker can carry up to 70 people.

6,900 VISITORS FOR THE VERY FIRST EDITION BUSWORLD SOUTHEAST ASIA For the first time in its history Busworld landed in Jakarta for the brand new Busworld Southeast Asia exhibition. The place to be for all Southeast Asian bus lovers was the JIexpo. Almost 6,900 unique visitors came to check out the latest designs of buses and coaches, components and spare parts, combined with attending presentations at the Conference organised by Busworld Academy.

MERCEDES-BENZ LAUNCHES A NEW BUS AT BUSWORLD JAKARTA At Busworld South East Asia PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI), launched a new Mercedes-Benz coach, the OF 917. It is a body chassis constructed bus with body from Laksana, one of the largest bodybuilders of Indonesia. The chassis is made in India. Besides this novelty Mercedes-Benz could announce at the end of the Jakarta Busworld Show that it had sold over 20 buses.

INDONESIAN MINISTER HANDS OVER FOUR LAKSANA COACHES TO BANGLADESH Busworld South East Asia formed the stage for a special handover of four Laksana coaches to Bangladesh. During a ceremony at the JIExpo Kemayoran (Jakarta) Indonesian Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Lestari Priansari Marsudi and the Ambassador for Bangladesh in Indonesia, H.E. Major General Azmal Kabir, performed the symbolic hand over of four brand new Laksana SR2 XHD Prime Legacy coaches to be operated by Ena Transport in Bangladesh.
