FLIXBUS PLEADS: “LOWER VAT ON BUS TICKETS” A year ago Flixbus started in October a pilot project with an electric long distance bus line between Frankfurt am Main and Mannheim. This December it has stopped operating this line. Not only because of technical difficulties but also because Flixbus says that “current measures in the climate protection package envisage lowering VAT on train but not on bus tickets and that such a preference for other means of transport will most likely cost “FlixMobility” greater losses and less budget for pilot projects.”

Now it has announced it has transferred from the prototype fase to series production. Using 3D printing, Daimler Buses will use the technique to react quickly, flexible, economically and environmentally responsibly to urgent customer requirements, such as rarely ordered components or special customer requests.

KEOLIS NETHERLANDS ORDERS LARGEST EUROPEAN ELECTRIC BUS FLEET AT BYD There was a rumour during Busworld about the biggest electric bus order ever in Europe, and now it is confirmed. Keolis Nederland BV has granted the order for 259 e-buses to BYD. And what's more, the delivery is scheduled from next summer. The deal includes a demanding whole-life package which delivers a total transport solution and takes into account operational needs and passenger comfort requirements.

EVOBUS NETHERLANDS TO SUPPLY 95 BUSES TO QBUZZ With 95 buses for the Groningen-Drenthe concession, Evobus has secured a substantial order in the Netherlands. When the public transport company continues this public transport concession from December 15, Qbuzz will use 49 Setra S419 UL (15 meters) 24 Mercedes-Benz Citaro LE and 22 Mercedes-Benz Citaro G (18 meters articulated). These buses will run on biodiesel (HVO).
