NOVA BUS RECEIVES LARGEST NORTH AMERICAN BUS ORDER
Nova Bus was awarded the collective contract for Quebec's transit authorities, coordinated by Association du transport urbain du Québec (ATUQ). The five-year contract, covering the period from 2020 to 2024, calls for the delivery of 497 40-foot hybrid buses LFS HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicles) and up to 1,028 vehicles on option to the transit authorities serving Quebec's nine largest cities.Read article

NATURAL GAS BUSES COST EFFECTIVE FOR HELSINKI
The number of gas-fueled buses in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area will increase when Scania delivers two new gas buses to the bus company Helsingin Bussiliikenne at the beginning of 2019. Finnish energy gas company Gasum says new-generation gas buses are the most cost-effective way to reduce carbon dioxide and local emissions from urban transport.Read article
GOLDSTONE-BYD TO PRODUCE 5,000 E-BUSES ANNUALLY
The Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD and their Indian partner Goldstone are planning to reach a production rate of electric buses of no less than 5,000 units per year by March 2021.
BORING COMPANY TO CONSTRUCT CHICAGO TRANSIT SUPERLINK
Elon Musk’s Boring Company has been selected to build a “Loop” transit system between the O’Hare airport and the downtown area. 80 to 100 vehicles will be used in the underground system.
The vehicles used will be based on the Tesla Model X with space for between 8 and 16 passengers. The fully electric vehicles will then drive autonomously through a tunnel system at speeds up to 240 km/h.
