CaetanoBus has delivered the fleet of 34 Caetano e.City Gold zero emission buses to London operator Albellio. They run already on the London routes C10 and P5 on behalf of Transport for London (TfL). The order was given in august last year to the Portuguese bus manufacturer.

The project also represents a proud and significant moment for CaetanoBus as it marks the first use of Caetano’s electric buses in the United Kingdom, a strategic market for CaetanoBus, where it has been supplying buses and coaches for more than 50-years.

The 10.7m Caetano e.City Gold is fully compliant with TfL’s latest specification concerning safety, driver and passenger comfort. The buses are equipped with a Camera Monitoring Systems to replace traditional wing mirrors, Intelligent Speed Assist, Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, zero emission heating and a revised front design to improve pedestrian and vulnerable road user safety.

Caetano is also providing a maintenance contract as part of the support package for Abellio, as well as fully supporting local delivery of a full aftercare support and spare parts to all Caetano vehicles sold in UK. The Portugese company is part of the Salvador Caetano Group and Mitsui & Co. Abellio London Bus operates over 9% of London’s bus network, running 800 vehicles and employing 2,800 staff across six depots in Central, South and West London. It is part of the Abellio Group.
