Iveco Bus and Romana Diesel delivered 100 Iveco Crossway Low Entry buses to Italian operator Cotral. With this new bus fleet Cotral will strengthen transport service in the Lazio region in Italy. It was in Montelibretti, in the province of Rome, near the Passo Corese bus station, that the official delivery of the 100 Crossway Low Entry to Cotral took place.

The order is delivered by Iveco-dealer Romana Diesel through a local concession. Romana Diesel will also be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the fleet over the next few years. Cotral, Iveco Bus and Romana Diesel have a fruitful relationship for more than ten years.

The vehicles are Crossway Low Entry in a diesel version, equipped with a Cursor 9 engine of 360 hp Euro 6 Step D and a ZF EcoLife automatic gearbox. The buses are equipped with protective glass for the driver, a lowered floor between the front and middle doors for better accessibility, a retractable access ramp and spaces dedicated to people with reduced mobility, geolocation, video surveillance on board the vehicle and the AVM system linked to the Cotral power station.

Cotral, which is the first extra-urban public transporter in Italy, transports more than 70 million people each year, connecting 376 municipalities in the Lazio region and 17 municipalities in neighbouring regions. These buses - acquired through a tender - will be used for intercity public transport around Rome and Lazio.
