TWO LUXURIOUS DOUBLE-DECKER TEAM BUSES FOR MEXICAN CF MONTERREY
MAN Truck & Bus Mexico has supplied football club and current triple title holder CF Monterrey with two team buses. The club known as "Rayados" has received two double-decker buses with MAN chassis RR4 and 480 hp (353 kW), six-cylinder diesel engine at their core and a luxurious Marcopolo body.
It are eye-catching, 15-metre-long, blue-and-white double-decker buses on a three-axle MAN RR4 26.480 chassis. Brazilian manufacturer Marcopolo S.A. supplied the body for the coaches. They are powered by the 480 hp (353 kW), six-cylinder diesel engine D2676, which features a 12-gear MAN TipMatic Coach gearbox. The double-decker buses combine sustainable driving with power, economic efficiency and safety, ensured by the EBS Electronic Brake System, ACC Adaptive Cruise Control system, LGS Lane Guard System, EBA Emergency Brake Assistant and ESP Electronic Stability Program. On-board entertainment is provided by numerous TV screens and various other features. The luxurious MAN team buses are also equipped with telematics solutions from MAN Digital Solutions. These allow the clubs to monitor their vehicles automatically and in real time to access detailed information regarding the route and standstill times. MAN has five Bus Centres in Mexico. They are responsible for servicing the vehicles.
2019 was a particularly successful year for CF Monterrey. The Mexican football club managed to win not just one but three titles in a single year: Rayados beat CF América to the Apertura 2019, the Mexican league title. The men’s team was also successful in winning the CONCACAF Champions League in North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The women’s team also did outstandingly well in winning the Mexican league title.
CF Monterrey is the third football club in Mexico to transport its football team in a MAN team bus. The other two are Gallos de Querétaro and Chivas Guadalajara.
