IRIZAR'S JOSÉ MANUEL ORCASITAS RETIRES, RAFAEL STERLING NEW CEO
As of the 1st of September 2019, Rafael Sterling is the new Chief Executive Officer to lead the Irizar Group. He succeeds José Manuel Orcasitas who has led the Irizar Group as CEO in the last ten years and now announced his retirement.
Rafael Sterling (1975) was prior to his appointment as Chief Executive Officer the International Business Director of the Irizar Group. Orcasitas has been working more than 26 years at Irizar of which the last ten years he acted as CEO of the Irizar Group. He has transformed the group into a industrially and geographically diversified business group which operates in six business areas, including passenger transport, electromobility, electronics, electric motors and generators, connectivity and energy. The group now consists of 7 brands: Irizar, Irizar e-mobility, Alconza, Datik, Hispacold, Masats and Jema. It has 13 production plants in Spain, Morocco, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa. The Irizar Group employs 3,350 people. The 130 year old company has an aggregate turnover of 750 million euros (2018).
