Iveco Bus reaches a new milestone by delivering its 40,000th Crossway to Arriva Česká Republika. Iveco Bus launched the Crossway a decade ago. The Crossway has sold particularly good in France, Italy, Germany and Eastern Europe. The Crossway achieves now a historic performance by achieving a record production of 40,000 units.

This 40,000th Crossway, with a length of 14.5 m and equipped with a Cursor 9 engine, marks a key milestone for Iveco Bus and its Výsoke Mýto plant. This Crossway LE Line offers easy access for people in wheelchairs thanks to its low floor between the front and middle doors. This vehicle is an integral part of a total delivery of 15 buses, and thus participate in Arriva Česká Repulika fleet renewal plan. Today, in total Arriva operates 2,000 vehicles and carries more than 115 million passengers.

All of our new buses are equipped with air conditioning, comfortable high-back seats, LCD screens with information on upcoming stops, Wi-Fi and USB ports to charge mobile phones. Added Daniel Adamka, CEO of Arriva Česká Repulika. This vehicle will be operated on the network of the city of Prague and will be identifiable with the number 40,000 on the side.

Iveco states that the Výsoké Mýto factory plays a key role in the industrial sector. Located 180 km east of Prague and founded more than 120 years ago, it benefits from a long tradition in the production of coaches and buses. With more than 3,800 employees and 1,700 subcontractors, it is one of the largest employers in the Czech Republic and the largest coach and bus manufacturer in Europe, producing more than 4,000 vehicles a year. These are developed in close collaboration with the Design Office of Vénissieux (Rhône-Alpes) and account for nearly 20% of components of French origin, including many parts manufactured by the Annonay plant and Iveco engines Cursor produced in Bourbon-Lancy (Saone-et-Loire) by FPT Industrial, part of the CNH Industrial group company.
