Irizar e-Mobility has scored orders from Madrid's public transport operator EMT for 20 ie buses of 12 meter and from Vitoria-Gasteiz for 7 ie tram articulated of 18 meters and 6 ie tram of 12 meter. For Madrid it is the second large order since EMT ordered last year 15 of Irizar zero emission buses and for Vitoria-Gasteiz it is the first Irizar order.

The order for Vitoria-Gasteiz includes corresponding electric charging systems, and maintenance. The 13 Irizar ie trams are to be used on the first complete zero-emission electric line in the city and is part of the Smart Electric Bus (BEI) project. Irizar is collaborating with the construction company Yarritu and LKS, which will carry out the engineering, civil works, signage, communications, etc. The contract also includes the installation of interoperable pantograph opportunity charging stations at two stops along the route, which will allow buses to be charged in 4 minutes during. Irizar will be also responsible for the maintenance.

The 20 ie buses for Madrid EMT are of the second generation and will have more efficient batteries for faster charging, all developed and manufactured by Irizar. Additionally in depot smart charging systems, developed and supplied by Irizar, will be installed. The first vehicles will be delivered summer next year.

In the French city of Amien Irizar is implementing a turnkey project, with a fast-charging infrastructure, where 43 Irizar ie tram model zero-emission electric buses and charging infrastructures, developed and supplied by the Irizar Group, have been put into operation. Hector Olabegogeaskoetxea, Managing Director of Irizar e-mobility: “Amiens is our first network of this scale for design, manufacturing, and charging systems, which will undoubtedly serve as a showcase for future projects" In September Irizar will start two projects in Aix en Provence with 16 units of the Irizar 12-meter ie tram and in Bayonne with 10 units of the Irizar ie 18-meter tram.
