During the UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Stockholm from 9 to 12 June, Solaris Bus & Coach will show as a world première a new generation of its hydrogen bus, the Solaris Urbino 12 hydrogen and a facelift and upgrade of the Urbino 12 Electric. Also Solaris will present its 'connect' system eSConnect.

The new Solaris Urbino 12 Hydrogen bus has roof-mounted hydrogen tanks. A fuel cell powers the bus driveline which consists of an axle with electric engines. The bus is also fitted with a Solaris High Power battery of 29 kWh which acts as an additional electric power storage facility.

The second vehicle to be unveiled at the Solaris stand in Stockholm will be the face-lifted Solaris Urbino 12 electric. The Solaris city bus generation currently on offer was displayed for the first time in 2014. The Urbino 12 electric won in 2017 the prestigious Bus of the Year 2017 title.

Solaris is now introducing a range of improvements in the design of the Solaris city buses. The new front lighting system is fully LED and consists of three headlights instead of the existing five. The new design of the bus front should improve the drivers view and is more aerodynamic. The roof is adjusted for better maintenance and disposal of rain water. Also the front destination display has an enhanced visibility.

Solaris is also to present its new 'connect' system, eSConnect, for the monitoring and maintenance of electric buses.
