In order to continue renew and update their bus fleet in an environmentally way Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has ordered 105 CN buses. They will replace 75 standard buses and 30 diesel buses of the first generation. Among the 105 buses TMB ordered 30 hybrids to replace the diesel buses.

Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) expects delivery of the new bus fleet this year. Of these 105 buses, 49 will be standard 12 meters equipped with compressed natural gas engines of the latest generation, 26 will be articulated 18 meters long with the same technology and 30 will be standard vehicles with hybrid propulsion. The three lots have been awarded to MAN Truck & Bus Iberia, for an overall amount of 34,664,700 euro.

The entire bus fleet of TMB consists of 1,140 units. With this new order TMB is elevating the environmental quality of the fleet. The hybrids for instance will replace diesel buses of 14 years old. TMB already has 350 hybrids running.

The new 49 CNG buses will be 12 meters standard equipped with state-of-the-art compressed natural gas engines, 26 will be 18 meter articulated buses with the same technology and 30 will be standard hybrid propulsion vehicles. Delivery is planned for between September and December of this year.
