FIRST BUSWORLD EXHIBITION IN KAZAKHSTAN

Coming June, from 25 to 27, Busworld is organising its second new exhibition of 2019. This time Busworld is going to Almaty, the largest city of Kazakhstan. A first reaction might be: “Why Kazakhstan?” Busworld replies that the potential of this rough diamond is enormous. During the three days the Busworld Academy will cut and polish this rough diamond.

What is the attraction of Kazakhstan and the potential for bus and coach manufacturers, suppliers and service specialists? Busworld Academy will be filled with one theme: Futuristic Transportation Solutions for Central Asia – Shaping Tomorrow’s Public Transport in Central Asian countries!

Almaty, the capital of Kazachstan, faces considerable peak hour traffic congestion and pollution problems in addition to its high traffic fatality rate. With 1,8 million inhabitants it is the largest city in Kazachstan. Sustainable transport solutions can address these issues, which is why improvements to the existing transport network as well as a BRT system are necessary.

During the inaugural session of the Busworld Academy the Kazakh & Central Asian Bus & Coach market will be analysed and trends and evolutions given by Mrs Tatiana Arabadji, Director Russian Automotive Market Research and Mr Alexei Volostnov, Director of Frost & Sullivan Moscow Office. This will be followed by a CEO panel discussion of the most important bus manufacturers. Undoubtedly a better, safer, sustainable, comfortable and affordable public transport in Kazakhstan will be one of the topics.

Trends and challenges in e-bus development and developing new transport systems will be discussed by Mr. Erlan Aukenov, Deputy Akim of Almaty (Kazakhstan), Mr Bagdat Telebay, Director Almaty Chamber of Entrepreneurs (Atameken). The “Experience of Moscow in e-bus implementation in tough climate conditions” will be elaborated by Mr. Artem Burlakov, Head of Special Projects Department, Mosgortrans (Russia).

Alternative ways of financing public transport: the role of Financial Institutions in PT development will be explained by Mr Yussup Khassiev from the UITP, and Mr. Dauren Sabitov, Deputy Head of Transport Committee (Kazakhstan). Also representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the Worldbank will give presentations.
