At Busworld South East Asia PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI), launched a new Mercedes-Benz coach, the OF 917. It is a body chassis constructed bus with body from Laksana, one of the largest bodybuilders of Indonesia. The chassis is made in India. Besides this novelty Mercedes-Benz could announce at the end of the Jakarta Busworld Show that it had sold over 20 buses.

Next to the new Mercedes-Benz OF 917 there were on display the three latest premium buses by Mercedes-Benz in South East Asia, the OF 1623, O500RS 1836 and OC500RF 2542. DCVI is the official sole sales agent of Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles in Indonesia.

Speaking at the event, Christoph Stemmer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said “that with the advancement of Indonesia road infrastructure, we are very proud to see that Mercedes-Benz buses can go beyond a mere transportation tool to a solution of connectivity and people’s mobility”. With the improved Mercedes-Benz OF 917 it maintains its strong characteristics as a leader in its segment with wider total width, full airbrake, better ergonomic driving position and two seat number options. Furthermore, improvements are also made in engine, transmission, axle and suspension which results in a safer, more efficient and comfortable bus operation. The OF 917 is a front engine truck chassis with a 3.9 ltr 4D34i Euro 3 turbo with Intercooler. It delivers 125 kW (170hp) with 520 Nm torque at 1,500-2,000 rpm.
