Busworld is expanding the bus-business all over the world. The latest Busworld show was organized in the Russian capital Moscow, a second edition of Busworld Russia Powered by Autotrans.
The place to be during three days of bus-business was Crocus Expo where hall 2 was packed with buses and bus components and accessories.
Three days in which 5,050 visitors - a 46% increase versus 2016 - came from all over Russia and abroad the be informed about the latest developments in the world of bus and coach.
With 84 companies from 14 countries on a surface of 9,000 sqm - a 90% increase versus 2016 - the fair was a great success, concluded Busworld president Didier Ramoudt at the last day of the show.

VolgaBus showed their brand new CR12E, short for CityRythm, an electric citybus which will be ready for production in the second half of next year. The company expects a homologation for the Russian market in the first half of 2019. After this is achieved VolgaBus will apply for homologation for the European market as was explained at this Busworld Russia.

The Russian manufacturer PK Transport Systems presented a remarkable solution to avoid unnecessary down time of an electric bus when charging. Just hook up a little trailer with a battery pack to charge the bus while driving. At the start or end of a route the trailer can be disconnected and charged again.

The Russian busbuilder GAZ showed their new midibus Next 8.8 and also Cruise, a luxury coach. GAZ surprised with the new autonomous van equipped with an installation and software produced by Basetrack. A system in which a route can be set by using images provided by a satellite, aeroplane or helicopter (or in future even a drone). The coordinates of the route are downloaded into a smartphone which has to be connected to the system and then your autonomous van is ready to go.
Kamaz is awarded the Russian Bus of the Year award for their electric bus 6282. On a second stand Kamaz presented an 18 metre articulated citybus with a CNG engine in their booth. Right in the center of attention Kamaz showed the very first autonomous electric bus at Busworld Russia. The unmanned M2 category small-class SHATL (Wide Adaptive Transport Logistics) vehicle, is developed in cooperation with Nami.The

Chinese manufacturers Yutong, Ankai, King Long and Higer were very well represented with lots of vehicles. Their Russian importers had invested in large booths at the exhibition to promote the latest coaches and citybuses.

Turkish Anadolu Isuzu present at the Russian market showed several of their products.

Furthermore Portuguese Caetano and Spanish Actia were present and ready to enter the Russian bus market. Caetano showed an electric chassis for citybuses and Actia their electric drivelines for buses.

MAN was there with the Neoplan Tourliner and of course with the Russian Tourist / intercity bus of the Year: the new Lion's Coach, this year introduced in the Russian market.

Busworld is more than just a presentation of buses, components and accessories, it is also an international meeting point for all bus and coach professionals. Busworld Academy organized several seminar days, this time in collaboration with TAMA, Transport Association of the Moscow Agglomeration and UITP, Union Internationale des Transports Publics. Russian bus manufacturers are being challenged by the Russian authorities to develop and deliver sustainable buses to reduce exhaust emissions, in particular CO2 and NOx. Several manufacturers introduced their first electric buses next to drivelines for alternative fuels like CNG and LNG (natural gas or biogas).
