OLECTRA GREENTECH AND EDISON ELECTRA AT BUSWORLD INDIA 2018
Busworld India 2018 concluded successfully on the 31st of August at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) in Bengaluru. This eighth edition of Busworld India was a grand success in showcasing the near future of the bus & coach industry. The event witnessed the launch of many new vehicles, products and business tie-ups. Especially the electric driven buses could find themselves in the interest from the more then 8,000 visitors.
As in many other countries the Indian government decided that all diesel buses should be replaced by electric buses by 2030. Only in Bengaluru there are 6,000 buses operating in public transport. Most of them are less then Euro 4. With a yearly market of around 100.000 buses the potential is extremely attractive for all (electric) vehicle builders.
Olectra Greentech (formerly Goldstone Infratech) in collaboration with BYD China presented the fully electric 11 seater maxi cab, K6 Luxe, along with a 39 seater electric bus, the K9 a 12 metre city bus with a GVW of 18,000 kg. There is also the K7, a 8,7 metre bus for city use with maximum of 29 seats and GVW of 13,500 kg. Both are equipped with a BYD FE battery type. The range is according to Olectra 250 km. http://olectra.com
Edison Electra develops electric buses in collaboration with the Chinese Chengdu Bus Company for the Indian market. They confirmed that they were very pleased with their sales results during the Busworld India 2018. They guarantee a specific minimum average range per vehicle type. Their philosophy, by allowing the buyer to return the vehicle if the range guarantee is not met, the buyer feels more confident to buy a first electric Edison Electra bus.
Together with several types of buses Edison Electra provides 120kw, 180kw, and 240kw DC fast chargers as part of ChargeMe Thomas network. Any CCS or GT/1 compatible vehicle could be turbocharged within the network. 'Royal Customers' will get complimentary charging feature anywhere across our network in India. Unfortunately Edison Electra was not able to exhibit any vehicle on its stand at Busworld India, but information concerning all kinds of electric vehicles and the chargers can be gathered from their website www.edisonelectra.com.
