Minsk Automobile Plant will present for the first time a bus with a push rod actuator, MAZ 216066. For the first time Belarusian designers have arranged the driveline not in the front but in the rear part of the bus. It will be on display at the coming Busworld Russia show in Moscow in October.

Now JSC MAZ offers buses both with pulling and pushing drive, which it did not have before and makes the brand more competitive in the world market.
MAZ 216066 will open a new class of Belarusian buses with rear-engine drive layout. Unlike the classical scheme, when the drive is in front and pulls the trailer behind it, in the new bus the engine is at the rear. This solution allows you to allocate more space in the cabin, making it more spacious for passengers, including people with disabilities. The new bus will be completely low-floor and will have a low noise level while driving.
The new model has 40 seats, and in total the salon will accommodate up to 165 passengers. The bus is equipped with a 326 horsepower Mercedes-Benz (OM 926 LA) class Euro 5 and an Allison automatic transmission.
