Recently the first f of 25 electric buses acquired by the Milanese public transport company entered service on the ATM network. They are 12-meter buses produced in Poland by Solaris Bus & Coach. The total investment is 14 million euros.

The vehicles are equipped with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries with a total capacity of 240 kWh. According to the manufacturer, the autonomy is about 180 km. The batteries are recharged in about five hours in the depot thanks to a charging column with a capacity of 80 kW. The first batch of 10 units will be delivered by mid-April, while the second, consisting of 15 vehicles, will be delivered between October and the end of 2018.The plan announced by the company is very ambitious, ATM aims to buy only electric vehicles from 2020 onwards,

The goal is to reach, by the end of 2030, to a fleet of 1,200 electric buses.
