AVM SELLS 58 ELECTRIC BUSES TO ISRAELI TRANSIT OPERATOR.

Los Angeles-based Advanced Vehicle Manufacturing (AVM) has signed a memorandum of understanding with UBSI, an operator of more than 650 buses in Israel and the Palestinian Territories, to purchase 58 of AVM’s commercial electric vehicles.

AVM unveiled the first vehicle in its line of electric mid-size shuttle buses, the EV27, at the recent Advanced Clean Expo in Long Beach. Also available in 21- and 33-foot lengths, AVM’s EV27 is suited for loop-based routes serving locations such as campuses, hotels and airports.

AVM shuttles are powered by Yinlong Energy’s proprietary lithium-titanate (LTO) battery  technology, which the company says can endure more than 20,000 cycles, ensuring the batteries’ lifespan exceeds that of the vehicle.

UBSI also plans to purchase a network of AVM’s 350 kW CCS 2.0 chargers, as well as a centralized fleet management system, AI-based route optimization software and Bluetooth beacon hardware. First deliveries are planned for Q1 2019.
