RUSSIAN NEW BUS MARKET GREW BY THIRTEEN PERCENT
According to Autostat data, the Russian new bus market (excluding LCVs) climbed to 11,700 vehicles in 2017, following a 13.4% year-on-year rise. Russian manufacturer PAZ has become the leader of the market, with more than 60% share of the total volume. Almost 7600 PAZ buses have been sold, indicating a 27.3% year-on-year growth.
All the top-5 most popular buses on the Russian market are domestic brands. LiAZ occupies the second spot with approximately 1500 units (-21%) and NEFAZ comes third (501, -17.3%). The top-5 is completed by KAvZ (366, -1.1%) and Volgabus (362, +31.2%).
Belarusian MAZ is the most popular foreign brand on the Russian market (359, -56.5%), occupying the sixth position in the general ranking. MAZ is followed by Chinese Yutong (276, +392.9%). Chinese Higer is the third most popular foreign brand (168, +572%).
The medium-class, high-floor PAZ-3205 has become the best-sold model in the Russian bus market, with a sales figure of 3400 units (-10.3%). Second, third and fourth places are also occupied by products of Pavlovsk Car Factory: medium-class PAZ-3204 (2510, +156.4%), high-floor medium-class PAZ-4234 (872, +58.8%) and small-class PAZ-3203 (734, +26.8%). Large-class, low-floor LiAZ-5292 completes the top-five (692, -13.2%).
Chinese 47-seater Yutong ZK6129h has become the most popular foreign bus model in 2017 (204, +827.3%).
