TITANIC BELFAST WINS COACH TOURISM PRIZE
The new Titanic in the Northern Irish Belfast was awarded the prize for coach tourism. The choice of the jury was, besides the interesting theme and the beautifully constructed exhibition, determined by the attractive group packages on offer, the spacious free coach parking and the facilities for the drivers.
Titanic Belfast is not an amusement park nor a museum in the classic sense of the word. It is an interactive exhibition about shipping at the beginning of last century, about the construction of the Titanic at Belfast’s shipyard, about life on board of a mega cruise liner and about the dramatic end of the Titanic.
In the dry dock, where the Titanic was built, you can now visit the fully restored twin ship, the SS Nomadic. The whole area around the abandoned former shipyard was put in new suit and is also worth a walk, with or without a guide.
