GAZ GROUP BUILDS ON SCANIA BUS CHASSIS
Scania-Rus has signed a contract with GAZ Group to supply 541 chassis for the production of LiAZ Voyage buses, intended to operate on the routes of Moscow.. The buses will be delivered within the scope of the passenger transport renewal programme, commissioned by the Moscow Region Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure, as reported by Scania-Rus press office.
The fruitful partnership of the companies started in 2004, when GAZ Group began the production of Cruise tourist buses, created on the chassis of Scania. The assembly of Voyage intercity buses started six years later on Scania chassis, followed by the signature of a trilateral agreement on the transport services of the 2014 Sochi Olympics. After a year, the buses manufactured by GAZ Group have passed the tests conducted at the training grounds of Scania in Sweden. Two bus models are being manufactured in the production sites of GAZ Group currently, with the usage of the modular bases of the Swedish company. The company has delivered more than 2200 chassis for LiAZ intercity and tourist buses, as of today.
