Eyptian bus operator Mowaslat Misr prepares for operating a fleet of 500 smart buses in Cairo, the capital of Egypt.
The company started its business recently and announced to invest an amount of EGP 1 billion in mainly new rolling stock,

It further announced that it is responsible for implementing an intelligent mass transportation project in cooperation with the Cairo Government and the public transport authority. It will be based on a joint investment by Egypt and United Arab of Emirates. In the first phase of the project 180 buses for greater Cairo (Cairo, Giza and Kalubia), will be acquird. Final target is to reach a fleet of 500 new buses over the coming two years.

Alexandria government has issued recently an international tender for15 electric public transport buses, which will change partially the environmental face of the Mediterranean city of Alexandria.

Several local suppliers and international bus manufacturers participated in this tender. The Alexandria Government  announced that they will start a selection procedure within three months. The Chinese bus manufacturer BYD is one of the participants.
