BELGIAN OPERATOR DE LIJN INVESTS IN 121 VDL BUSES
All buses are fitted with Euro VI diesel engines. The production of these buses means a year’s work at the VDL plant in Roeselare for 100 factory workers and will cost De Lijn an investment of 27 million euro.
Since 2012 De Lijn has invested altogether 374 million euro in procuring 88 new trams and 624 new buses. In 2000 De Lijn started with the installation of particle filters on her whole existing fleet of buses, excluding some older buses which do not have the technical possibilities to mount such a filter. After the delivery of the fleet of buses now ordered, nearly all 2.200 buses of De Lijn will offer a low emission of particles and NOx.
