Webasto will be presenting its new Cool Top RTC rooftop air-conditioner for mini and midi buses at Busworld 2015. For the first time, Webasto will thus be providing air-conditioning solutions that have a cooling capacity of more than 30 kW and is therefore ideally situated for larger midi buses. Further highlights include the new Thermo Top models and the electric High-Voltage Heater (HVH).

The Webasto air-conditioning solutions guarantee pleasant temperatures in the interior – even when the bus is travelling in very hot areas. Until now, the most powerful rooftop system in the portfolio is the Santana L/XL, with a cooling capacity of 18 kW, designed for mini and midi buses with up to 35 seats. With the modular Cool Top RTC 250, 300 and 360 models, Webasto has now significantly expanded its comprehensive range for buses. The new models have a cooling capacity of up to 36 kW and also provide a heating option of up to 35 kW. The high efficiency of the equipment is achieved using the latest component technologies as well as innovative concepts such as the individually switchable condenser fans. Special additional blowers ensure a sufficient supply of fresh air during the journey. Various diagnostic functions, direct access to the refrigerant connections and filters, and individually openable fans for cleaning the condensers make the Cool Top models the most service-friendly systems in their class.

The models of the Cool Top RTC range are compatible with the 24 V on-board power supply and can be easily and inexpensively mounted on the vehicle roof. The rooftop systems will be available worldwide for retrofitting starting in 2016.

Webasto has developed the powerful Thermo Pro 90, with a heat output of 9.1 kW, for minibuses. The high efficiency enables effective heating even at very low temperatures. This is made possible by the Arctic Start function as well as by the gradual heating output control, which enable new application areas even under extreme conditions. The low fuel and energy consumption and the especially quiet operation make a valuable contribution to both cost savings as well as environmental protection. Another highlight in Kortrijk: Webasto will be premiering the Thermo Top Pro 120/150 prototype, its new generation of heaters for the output classes of 12 and 15 kW. The market launch is planned for 2017. These heaters are ideal for use in mini / midi buses.

Webasto will also present its electric high-voltage heater (HVH) for hybrid and electric vehicles at the fair. Webasto originally developed the technology for cars, and has now successfully adapted it for buses and other commercial vehicles. The system converts electrical energy into heat with virtually no loss and is very light, with a weight of 2 kg. The heating power is infinitely adjustable from 0.2 to 7 kW.
