BUSWORLD INDIA ATTRACTED 3162 VISITORS
Busworld India took place from 1-3 February 2013 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. Manufacturers present at the show included Scania, ACGL, Corona and Deccan Auto, and alongside the event there was a three-day programme of events on technical and safety issues.
It was the fifth Busworld India exhibition, it had as leading theme ‘Gearing-up for a Sustainable Public Transportation System’ with a focus on fuel efficiency, ITS and hybridisation. But also safety was one of the issues addressed during the seminars, including fire prevention and extinguishing in buses and coaches.
The seminar programme starts with Sustainable, Modern Bus & Coach Mobility in India, and is followed by Safety, Fire Safety & School Bus Day, and a final session chaired by SK Lohia, ex-officio joint secretary, ministry of urban development.
India is the second largest market in the world for buses and coaches, according to Busworld, with a demand for buses and coaches above eight tonne which is twice as big as the demand in Western Europe.
