Turkish bus and truck manufacturer BMC exhibited 7 buses and coaches on this year’s Busworld exhibition, including the Procity low-floor bus developed for IETT (Istanbul Electricity, Tramway and Tunnel General Management) meeting  the authorities’ specific  requirements. Back end of last year BMC won a prestigious contract to supply 279 Procity buses to Istanbul. The project comes with a unique 5 year after sales support package, utilising BMC’s expertise in the area.

The Procity super low floor bus developed for IETT, is a prime example of BMC’s tailor made approach to adopt product and after sales to suit customer requirements, the company says. The IETT Procity is fitted with a 285 PS Cummins engine, kneeling function and walk through super low floor for easy passenger entry and exit, manual foldable ramp for disabled passengers, new generation automatic gearbox, automatic fire extinguisher system, powerful air condition, 5 point safety camera system, satellite vehicle tracking, automatic lubrication system; offering safety and comfort for passengers in Istanbul. The project incorporates 5 year repair and maintenance package coordinated and backed by BMC, giving IETT the piece of mind they require. BMC Procity buses have already been supplied to many municipalities and fleets in Turkey and Europe, including Izmir, Bursa, Mersin, Antalya in Turkey; and London Gatwick, Bucharest Sofia and Prague in Europe.
