The world of coach travel has been shaken up by the new Driving and Resting Time Regulations, issued as Regulation EG 561/2006 on 15 March 2006 by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers.

BIG BUS BUYS OPEN TOP DOUBLEDECKERS FROM ANKAI

The Big Bus Company is pleased to announce the addition of a small fleet of brand new buses to its Dubai fleet of sightseeing vehicles.  These new buses will enable Big Bus to operate a more frequent service, with buses departing every 15 minutes during the peak season. The buses have been custom built to Big Bus specifications by the Chinese bus manufacturer Ankai and include the latest in modern technology, digital language systems along with air conditioned cabin to ensure your ride is not only comfortable, but safe and secure.

VW POSTPONES TRUCK AND BUS DECISIONS

Volkswagen won't decide until next year if there will be closer cooperation among Scania, MAN and its own truck and bus making operations, its CEO has said. "No longer this year," Martin Winterkorn told Reuters about the timing of such a move. In July he said the VW management would address the situation in autumn, the news agency noted.

VOLVO B7R WITH BUSSCAR BODY FOR ANGOLA

Volvo do Brasil and the Brazilian body manufacturer Busscar have received an order from Angola to deliver 250 buses, to be used by the public transport company of the capital Luanda. The order was issued by the Ministry of Transport of Angola.

KINGLONG DELIVERED FIRST BATCH OF BRT BUSES TO IRAN

A first batch of Kinglong 18 meter BRT vehicles, of the model  XMQ6180G, were recently shipped to Iran. They are part of a batch ordered earlier this year, the vehicle shipped to Iran is part a new generation of citybuses, including articulated buses, which was launched at this year’s Busworld Asia exhibition.
