SCANIA WINS MAJOR ORDER FOR CITY BUSES IN MALAYSIA

Scania has won a tender for the supply of 152 low-entry city buses to the northern Malaysian island state of Penang. The order marks the biggest single order for the company to date, and is one of the largest single city bus deals in Malaysia.
BITZER STARTS PRODUCTION IN INDIA

German compressor manufacturer Bitzer is setting up a production facility in India. The company will be investing Euro 4 to 5 million on the plant coming up near Mumbai, according to Mr. Jean - Marc Dameron, Managing Director of Bitzer India. The Bitzer Group is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of refrigerant compressors.
CHINESE BUS MANUFACTURERS ENTER NORTH AMERICAN MARKET
Chinese bus and coach manufacturer Zhongtong recently shipped a Zhongtong coach LCK6103M body to the United States, as part of a process to complete these buses in the USA with local components as buses for the North-American market. Further details about this project were not yet unveiled.
SCANIA DELIVERING 250 COACHES TO ANGOLA

Scania has completed its largest bus and coach transaction to date in Angola, selling 250 intercity coaches. The coaches will provide service between major cities and play a key role in improving the efficiency of scheduled transport in Angola. The decisive factor behind choosing Scania was strong confidence in the company as a supplier of a complete transport solution.
FOTON LAUNCHES CNG BUS IN NORTH AMERICA

Beijing, Beiqi Foton Motors, LLC recently launched an American subsidiary under the name Foton America. From its offices in Germantown, TN, Foton America will introduce its city transit buses, following nearly two years of assorted testing to adjust the buses to U.S. rules. Foton America currently has two CNG vehicles in the country, one of them is to undergo the FTA-mandated Altoona testing.
