OTOKAR KENT 290 LF BUSES ON BUDAPEST ROADS

Four units of  Otokar Kent 290LF buses of Otokar, Turkey's bus market leader, have been delivered to Budapest, the capital of Hungary. At first instance they were used by the Hungarian government to transfer members of European Union committees between the Ferihegy Airport and Budapest city center, during the first six months of the year when Hungary was holding the EU chair.

OPTARE ENTERS SMALL BUS MARKET WITH THE BONITO

Optare has announced its intention to enter the small and accessible bus market this year, with an all new Optare-badged model, called Bonito. The vehicle will be produced in the Netherlands by Plastisol to Optare's specification. It will go on sale to British operators from June, with export sales in other European markets following on.

ARRIVA PLACES ANOTHER LARGE ORDER WITH VDL BUS & COACH

Arriva orders another large number of SB-200 chassis’s for delivery in 2012 through the VDL UK dealership Arriva Bus and Coach. The order consists of 80 single deck chassis of the type SB-200.  VDL says the single deck SB-200 chassis is a proven chassis concept achieving very low fuel consumption through the combination of a well proven running gear. Arriva has proven that this chassis gives greater benefits than others tested, low fuel consumption, reliability and whole life costs.

COACH AMERICA FILES FOR CHAPTER 11

PER CARLSSON IS NEW PRESIDENT AT VOLVO BUSES

Per Carlsson has been appointed President Volvo Bus Corporation. He will assume his new assignment January 1, 2012. Per Carlsson will replace Håkan Karlsson who will take up the position as head of the newly formed function Business Areas.
