UK BUS MODIFIED FOR DUAL-FUEL BIOMETHANE/DIESEL

A consortium brought together by low carbon experts at the University of East Anglia (UEA) has launched what is claimed to be the first bus in the UK to run on clean, biomethane gas, which is reported to reduce pollutant emissions and greenhouse gas emissions by around a half. It is hoped the technology will be rolled out to bus fleets across the country and further afield.

Collins Bus Corporation announced today an exclusive agreement with CleanFUEL USA to develop the first Type A small school bus to operate on autogas with a Liquid Propane Injection (LPI) system.

Nowadays, more and more developments are coming to the fore only to be superseded before they have really caught on. This may also prove to be the lot of bio-fuels based on bio-mass from agriculture. At the moment, scientists are claiming that bio-fuels will not be really practical until the day when there will probably be a better alternative.
IVECO LAUNCHES AN ELECTRIC DAILY IN BRAZIL

Iveco's Brazilian unit has unveiled a prototype of its new electric Daily, a model destined to be the first zero emission light commercial vehicle produced in Latin America. The project started with the development of the first Daily with pure electric drive in 1986.
