VIETNAMESE VINAMOTORS READY TO EXPAND INTO SOUTH-AMERICA

After achieving satisfactory business results in domestic market with an output value of 6.25 trillion dong and 165 billion dong in profit in 2007, Vietnam Automobile Industry Corp (Vinamotor) is preparing to invest in four projects aboard including three projects in Venezuela and one project in the Dominican Republic with a total investment capital of some US$200 million.

DAIMLER WON'T TAKE STAKE IN INDIAN PARTNER

Daimler AG denied a report in the Indian newspaper Business Standard that it will take a 26 percent stake in its Indian bus venture partner Sutlej Motors. "There is no stake in Sutlej", a spokeswoman for the German vehicle maker said, adding there were also no plans to buy a stake in the company.

MAN ANNOUNCES JOINT VENTURE WITH PON FOR FRANCE AND BENELUX MARKETS

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge has announced a joint venture agreement for sales, distribution and servicing in France and the Benelux countries with Pon, its Dutch market distributor for the past 27 years. The partnership will see Pon responsible for MAN trucks and engines as well as MAN and Neoplan buses and bus chassis in France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.

HINO TO ESTABLISH CHINESE JOINT VENTURE WITH GUANGZHOU AUTOMOBILE

Hino intends to set up a 50-50 joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co. and begin production of large trucks and buses by 2010. The Japanese truck and bus maker has won approval from China's state planner to set up this joint venture in the southern province of Guangdong with Toyota's local partner Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, according to the state planning agency.
