MAN RECEIVES TWO MAJOR ORDERS FROM PARIS AND BERLIN

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG has received two major orders from European capitals with a combined order value of over € 140 million. Following deliveries of 200 vehicles by the end of 2007, the Berlin transport authority (BVG) has ordered a further 200 MAN Lion’s City DD double-decker buses. The French capital Paris has also opted for innovative MAN city buses. MAN Camion & Bus France has won its biggest order to date on the French market; it is worth approximately € 60 million.
VAN HOOL RECEIVES ORDER FOR EIGHT FUEL CELL BUSES
Van Hool has received a new order for 8 new generation fuel cell buses from AC Transit with an option for another 4 units. Previously in the period 2005/2006 the company has delivered 5 fuel cell bus gliders to the U.S. of which 3 to AC Transit, California, 1 to Sunline, San Diego, California en 1 to CT Transit, Connecticut.

Expections with regard to the acceptance of hybrid vehicles by British bus operators are a bit downgraded by Traction Technology, the company that is preparing to supply hybrid drivelines to Optare.
FIRST-EVER NATURAL GAS-HYBRID TRANSIT BUS LAUNCHED IN SAN DIEGO
San Diego’s Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) has launched what's believed to be the first commercial bus with a CNG and electric hybrid drive system. The new technology was made possible by grants from the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), San Diego Air Pollution Control District (APCD), and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
LONG ISLAND BUS FLEET NEAR 100% CNG
Orion Bus Industries, the mass transit bus affiliate of Daimler Buses North America, has received an initial order for 60 Orion VII Next Generation CNG transit buses for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Long Island Bus, and also received confirmed options for 40 buses.
