VOLVO B7R WITH BUSSCAR BODY FOR ANGOLA

Volvo do Brasil and the Brazilian body manufacturer Busscar have received an order from Angola to deliver 250 buses, to be used by the public transport company of the capital Luanda. The order was issued by the Ministry of Transport of Angola.

A first batch of Kinglong 18 meter BRT vehicles, of the model XMQ6180G, were recently shipped to Iran. They are part of a batch ordered earlier this year, the vehicle shipped to Iran is part a new generation of citybuses, including articulated buses, which was launched at this year’s Busworld Asia exhibition.
NEW OPTARE RAPTA INTEGRAL DOUBLEDECKER WITH HYBRID DRIVE
Optare plc, the British bus manufacturer, has launched a new integral double-decker with MAN engine, that will later be offered in hybrid form with a system developed by the American company Enova.
MARCOPOLO SOUTH AFRICA INVESTS $10M IN GERMISTON PLANT

Bus manufacturer Marcopolo South Africa is investing $10-million on improving and expanding its manufacturing facility in Germiston, Gauteng. The company expects to sell 700 units this year, and expects the number to increase going forward, as it has tendered for a number of significant projects in South Africa.
ARRIVA CONFIRMS MAJOR BUS INVESTMENT FOR 2009

Arriva plc confirmed it has placed orders for its UK bus business which will see more than 500 new buses come into service during 2009. The orders represent a second year of significant fleet renewal and growth by the group with investment totalling more than £130m over 2008 and 2009. The buses for delivery in 2009, ordered from a number of manufacturers, represent an investment of some £70 million.
