The European registrations of new buses and coaches over 3.5 ton gross vehicle weight grew in the first three months of 2012. During March, buses and coaches were the only segment to post growth (+17.9%), sustained by the strong demand in the UK (+86.7%) and Germany (+22.6%).

Selling a total of 39,740 vehicles (2% more than the previous year), Daimler Buses is confident it has the right business strategy. Business was booming in Latin America, with sales of Mercedes-Benz chassis rising by 8% to 25,000 units during the period.
CHINESE BUS SALES INCREASED OVER 7% IN 2011

During 2011 a total number of 211,400 buses have been sold in China, according to media reports. That is 7.68 percent higher than the amount sold in 2010. 23,100 buses were sold in November alone. According to Yu Zhenqing, deputy secretary general of China Highway and Transportation Society's bus division, sales of buses should further increase in the future.
