Salvador F. Caetano, founder of the Portuguese coachbuilding concern that carries his name, as well as the Salvador Caetano Group of over 100 companies, has died at the age of 85. Born in Vila Nova de Gaia on 2 April 1926, he founded the coachbuilding concern of Martins & Caetano & Irmão, Ltd, when only 20.
REG VARNEY, ALIAS BUS DRIVER STAN BUTLER DIES AT THE AGE OF 92

Probably the prototype of a bus driver was the British actor Reg Varney in his role as driver Stan Butler in the British sitcom “On the buses”, which ran on the British ITV channel during the seventies, but also was broadcasted by channels outside Britain.
GEOFF BALLARD DIES AT AGE OF 75

Geoff Ballard, the Canadian entrepreneur who transformed pollution-free fuel cells from an exotic power source used in the space program to an everyday engine used in industry, buses and, perhaps soon, in cars, died Aug. 2 at Lions Gate Hospital in Vancouver from complications of a liver disease. He was 75.
LORD STOKES 1914 – 2008

Lord Stokes, former chief of British Leyland Motor Corporation, died on July 21, 2008, aged 94. Donald Gresham Stokes was the son of the Transport Manager of the Plymouth City Transport undertaking, in those days one of the clients of Leyland. By the age of 11 he knew that he wanted to work for Leyland Motors.
