CASTROSUA LAUNCHES TEMPUS HYBRID BUS

Spanish busmaker Castrosúa has unveiled its first hybrid bus. Named Tempus, the new electric-diesel-powered bus will be ready this summer for practical tests. It was developed in co-operation with a company called Mormendi.
NEW BATTERY TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS RECHARGE IN 10 MINUTES
Battery recharging times remain a major obstacle for electric vehicles. American manufacturer Proterra claims that its new all-electric buses can recharge in as little as ten minutes, though the distance to be travelled ob this charge is limited. The new technology is part of the new generation of Proterra buses, which the American cities of San Jose, Seattle and San Francisco are considering to buy.
PROTERRA'S ZERO EMISSION BUS TOURS CALIFORNIA

Proterra, manufacturer of clean commercial transit solutions from city transit buses to class 4-8 trucks, kicked-off its first ever California Clean Bus Tour in San Jose with the unveiling of its zero emission fast-charge battery electric bus. The EcoRide BE35 is designed to help communities significantly reduce air and noise pollution while cutting down vehicle operating costs, according to the manufacturer.
OSLO TO RUN BUSES ON BIOMETHANE

Free, friendly and non-fossil – biomethane from sewage waste will soon power public transport in the Norwegian city of Oslo. Until recently raw sewage has been seen as mainly a waste disposal problem rather than a power source. In Oslo, air pollution from public and private transport has increased by approximately 10% since 2000, contributing to more than 50% of total CO2 emissions in the city.
