O 3250: LONG-SERVING REGULAR IN PASSENGER TRANSPORT

Staged in May 1949, the Technical Export Fair was to provide companies, in particular German companies, with a significant economic stimulus in the years and decades ahead. The fair witnessed the premiere of the 300 engine series in the L 3250 truck and O 3250 bus, a unit that would continue to serve in light and medium-duty trucks for almost half a century.

A CENTURY OF HYBRID BUSES

Hybrid buses are almost a century old. The first ones were developed by the British vehicle manufacturer W.A. Stevens, who developed as W. A. Stevens Electrical Engineers a gasoline-electric vehicle in 1906.

MARCOPOLO CELEBRATES 60TH ANNIVERSARY

The Brazilian bus body manufacturer Marcopolo is celebrating his year its  60th birthday. An emblem with the numbers six and zero interlinked has been designed for this occasion. Based in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, Marcopolo has sold its products in over 104 countries and has facilities in South Africa, Argentina, China, Colombia Egypt, India, Mexico, Portugal and Russia.

SCANIA REPRESENTATIVES ATTENDING HIGER ANNIVERSARY

Higer Bus Co.,Ltd celebrated its 10th birthday on January 18, 2009, an event which was among other attended by representatives of Scania - Melker Jernberg, senior vice president of Scania Group and Mats Harborn, general manager of Scania Group (China), were present at this ceremonial activity.

TEN YEARS OF THE MERCEDES-BENZ MINIBUS

On 18 October Mercedes-Benz subsidiary MiniBus GmbH celebrated their 10 years of the existence. EvoBus first entered the minibus segment in 1998, and today the 220 employees of this Dortmund-based company produce around 1200 vehicles annually. This gives the company an approx. 7 percent share of the European bus market for vehicles between 3.5 and 5 t gross vehicle weight.
