Marcopolo SA announced that Mauro Gilberto Bellini has been elected president of the Brazilian body bus builder. Bellini’s term runs from 2012 to 2014, after which he will be eligible for re-election. Bellini is the son of the company’s founder, Paulo Bellini, who will serve as president emeritus.

Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland has appointed Mr. Sam Burman as its Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, a new position in the Company, he will be responsible for the Product Development, Advanced Engineering and Product Planning functions.

Per Carlsson has been appointed President Volvo Bus Corporation. He will assume his new assignment January 1, 2012. Per Carlsson will replace Håkan Karlsson who will take up the position as head of the newly formed function Business Areas.

After almost 14 years as President and CEO of the Volvo Group, including Volvo Bus, Leif Johansson has informed the Board of AB Volvo of his intention to resign in conjunction with his 60th birthday next summer. “The timing is good both with respect to my personal situation and with respect to the more stable situation for the company” says Leif Johansson.
