TROLLEY SYSTEM FOR MEXICO CITY
Mexico's federal district government (GDF) will invest US$173 million to purchase 12 electric trolleys for Mexico City, local press reported. The new trolleys are expected to start operations in 2010, covering a 28-station, 10.8km route that will connect the city's historic center and Buenavista districts.
VOLVO BUSES FOR NEW MEXICAN GUADALAJARA BRT SYSTEM
The Mexican city of Guadalajara is starting its first BRT line, the operator has chosen Volvo as its bus supplier. The first order is for 41 Volvo 7300 articulated buses has meanwhile been placed.
FIRST STRETCH OF CAMBIDGE GUIDED BUSWAY READY

The first stretch of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, a guided bus system under construction in England. At 25 kilometres (16 mi) long, the scheme will be the longest in the world. Construction started in March 2007 and is expected to be finished in 2009.
BANGALORE ORDERS 240 CITY BUSES FROM VOLVO
Volvo Buses has received an order for an additional 240 city buses to Bangalore, India. The 70 Volvo buses already in traffic in the city have enticed many inhabitants to park their cars and take the bus instead.
VOLVO ENTERS CHINESE BRT MARKET
Volvo Buses is now launching its BRT Volvo 7800 bus in China. Currently, there is a strong environmental focus in China prior to the Olympic Games and later the World Expo in Shanghai. In addition, Volvo’s Chinese company Sunwin has received an order for 395 city buses to the Olympic city of Qingdao.
