MORE BRT SYSTEMS TO COME TO INDIA

The Indian government has decided that nine cities will be getting a BRT system to increase the capacity of the local public transport. The nine cities include Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, Indore, Bhopal, Pune, Jaipur, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The BRT systems are considered to be a crucial tool to provide smooth and affordable transport.

Bus manufacturer Marcopolo South Africa is investing $10-million on improving and expanding its manufacturing facility in Germiston, Gauteng. The company expects to sell 700 units this year, and expects the number to increase going forward, as it has tendered for a number of significant projects in South Africa.

HISPANO COOPERATES WITH ALEXANDER DENNIS AND TECNOBUS

Hispano has signed a collaboration agreement with Tecnobus, an Italian manufacturer of minibuses with electric or hybrid-electric drive. Hispano offers two  Tecnobus models, one electric and the other hydrogen-powered, based on the U520ESP program. Hispano is a member of the Indian Tata group.
