ALLISON TRANSMISSION IPO AT TRIPLE 2007 VALUE

Carlyle Group LP and Onex Corp., owners of transmission manufacturer Allison, are seeking to take Allison Transmission Holdings Inc. public at a valuation that’s almost triple what they paid for the auto-parts maker, when they acquired it in 2007.

VOLGREN MAJORITY SOLD TO MARCOPOLO

Grenda recently entered into an agreement to sell a majority stake in bodybuilder Volgren Australia Pty Ltd to Brazilian Marcopolo S.A. Marcopolo is one of the world’s largest bus manufacturers’ producing around 30,000 buses per annum in 11 plants worldwide. They also have a components factory located in Changzhou China. Marcopolo employs over 18,000 people and has a turnover of around $1.6 billion Australian dollars. They make a variety of products on predominantly European chassis including luxury coaches, intercity buses, city buses and mini buses.

DAIMLER BUS CHASSIS ASSEMBLY FACILITY FOR COLOMBIA

Daimler subsidiary, Daimler Colombia S.A., officially opened a new bus chassis assembly in Bogota so that it can continue to meet the country’s demand for buses from Daimler, especially for efficient passenger transportation in densely populated cities. Daimler unveiled its latest assembly in the presence of Colombian President, Juan Manuel Santos, and several members of the German parliament. The facility will assemble bus chassis based on the Mercedes-Benz 1016 and the Thomas EF 1723, and will initially assemble a batch of 500 units this year.

AMW LAUNCHES MAGNUS COACH
