HINO BUS ASSEMBLY IN INDIA DELAYED
The joint venture between Hino Motors Ltd, the commercial vehicle arm of Toyota Motor Corp., and Japanese trading firm Marubeni Corp. had to defer its December 2009 launch because of a delay in the so-called homologation process, said Amol J. Sandil, executive vice-president, Hino Motors Sales India. Hino plans to import the buses in semi-knocked-down form from the parent firm’s Thailand factory. JCBL India Pvt. SOLARIS DEVELOPS NEW HYBRID BUS
In 2010, Solaris will continue to expand its product range with new vehicles and technology. In the second half of the year, the Solaris InterUrbino intercity bus will enter serial production in several specification packages tailored to the demands of European markets. Solaris’s commitment to eco-friendly transport will be renewed with a newly-developed serial hybrid city bus. Its premiere is planned for the IAA Commercial Vehicles show in Hannover.
SOLARIS ACHIEVES RECORD RESULT IN 2009
Solaris Bus & Coach finished 2009 with a record result despite adverse developments in key markets. Sales of new Solaris buses were up 7.5% to an all-time high of 1114 units. Turnover reached 272 million EUR, up 11.4% from the previous year. For 2010, Solaris also expects a good performance. Defying trends in the bus industry, Solaris Bus & Coach finished 2009 with its best result ever.

DONGFENG MOTOR INTERESTED IN SERBIAN TRUCK AND BUS MAKER FAP
A technical team from the Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor Corp has visited Serbian truck and bus producer FAP recently to look into the technical capabilities of the Priboj-based company, local media reported yesterday. The Priboj Automobile Factory (FAP), located in southwestern Serbia, expects a letter of intention from Dongfeng Motor after the visit regarding interest in privatizing the company and a decision for investing in its production, said FAP General Director Mirko Stojović.
