ORDER FOR 177 VOLVO COACHES FROM MAJOR COMPANY IN BRAZIL

Volvo Buses has received an order for 177 coach chassis for the JCA Group, one of Brazil’s largest passenger transport companies, with more than 3,000 buses and coaches on the road. The order pertains to the Volvo B9R chassis, which is manufactured in Volvo’s plant in Curitiba, Brazil, and is scheduled for delivery in 2011. On these chassis, coach bodies will be built by Marcopolo.
THE DOUBLE-DECK BUS MAY STILL HAVE A CHANCE IN CHINA

According to latest news reports, the Chinese ministries and commissions in charge of the automotive industry have reached an agreement on the double-deck bus: it will not be banned from the market, as was planned earlier, but there will be stricter admission rules to ensure its operational safety, according to China Automotive News.

TATA MOTORS TO LAUNCH DIVO LUXURY COACH

Tata Motors , the country's largest automotive maker in terms of sales will be launching its Divo, a luxury AC coach meant for intercity long-distance operations in the first quarter of the next fiscal, a top official said today. Ashish Tandon, head marketing buses of Tata Motors, said the variant will compete with Volvo and Mercedes.
MAN INVESTS IN BUS AND COACH PRODUCTION

MAN Truck & Bus will be investing some €19m in modernising bus production at its Plauen plant in Germany. The plans include a new main assembly hall with ergonomic work-places, an environmentally friendly paintshop, a global competence centre for new painting and bonding technologies and expansion of the logistics sector. A Customer Centre is also envisaged, where customers are able to clarify orders and collect their new Neoplan. These improvements are set for completion by the end of 2013.
