IVECO/IRISBUS LAUNCH EURO 6 ENGINES

The new low-emission Cursor 11 diesel engine from Iveco and Fiat Powertrain Technologies meets Euro-6 without EGR. The development comes from FPT Industrial's SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, which will be introduced on the two new Cursor and Tector engine ranges for heavy-duty trucks and buses.

BMAC LAUNCHES LED HEADLIGHTS FOR BUSES AND COACHES

BMAC from Britain has launched Europe's first E approved range of LED "90mm" headlight units. It's unique "Duo- Lux" lens configuration produces a precision beam pattern that maximise the illumination of the road ahead, according to the manufacturer. BMAC headlamps will provide maintenance free operation for many years. With BMAC's three year guarantee and a typical useful life of up to 10 years (based on an average use of eight hours a day) bulb changes will be a thing of the past.

E-TRACTION IN COLD WEATHER TEST

In-wheel direct drive motor company e-Traction Europe BV early in the spring of 2011 has undertaken a new development projection in cooperation with Hybricon SE of Umeå, Sweden to equip two Volvo 7700 city buses with a modified e-Traction system for cold-weather testing. SCANIA UNVEILS EURO 6 HEAVY-DUTY ENGINES

Daimler has launched the Mercedes-Benz OM 471, under the name “Blue Efficiency Power”. The Blue Efficiency Power generation of Mercedes-Benz engines has been specifically developed for use in Europe and is the first of its type to meet, from the outset, the Euro VI emission standard.
